I decided to republish a fragment of my article Marriage with an unbeliever is... impossible in the weblog.

In this article I claim that no believer ever married with an unbeliever.

It is written in Bible though St. Paul (1Cor. 7:39) A woman is bound by the law while his husband is alive... but if her husband is dead, she is free (or: is able) to marry with one he desires, but only in the Lord. (It can be translated also reversely She is free (or: it is possible regarding she) to be married with one who wants (she), but only in the Lord.) The same obviously is true not only regarding a woman with dead husband but also regarding one who never was married.

So, a married woman is not able (is bound by a law) to be married with an other man, like elephants cannot move to an other planet because they cannot fly (are bound with the law of gravitation) independently of whether they would desire it. Stop! There was very many occurrences when wives have gone away to others!, you may reply. No, such the occurrences haven't happened as the true marriage is only in the Lord (and so, only of believers); it is written is able to be married only in the Lord, unbelievers have only fake marriage such as a writing signed by state authorities but not signed by God, so these your occurrences are not to be counted. It is clearly written that only believers can marry (can be married... only in the Lord).

This word free means in ancient Greek free from slavery, is not a slave. All of you know that a slave woman cannot be married with one he wants to marry, her decision to marry with somebody doesn't matter. Whenever a slave do, independently of how much she may want, she cannot become the wife of one she wants. We are slaves of God, and so cannot, do not have the freedom to be married not in the Lord. We have the possibility to marry with whenever we desire in the Lord, but when it is concerned a marriage with an unbeliever we are just slaves (radio controlled robots) to which the Lord will not give a possibility to accomplish this. In us lives Holy Spirit, a part of energy of God is in us, so He can stop us at any moment.

So, it was only an illusion that I am in so awful danger, I was afraid of something which just cannot happen. I would not able to become her husband. My foots would refuse to go or my tongue would fail in the marriage registry office or the penis would not raise at the right time. As it is written is not able, so not able, even if looks like that this will happen just now. To overcome the temptation it would be enough just to understand that this cannot happen.

And one more conclusion from this verse of Bible: We are able to marry with whenever we want! Every of us, believers, can get any woman which he desires, be she a princess, a TV-star, or the girl from the neighbor house herself! (except of the case when she is an unbeliever or in some other way the marriage with she would be against Christ, for example, if she is already given to somebody other.) Also a believing woman can get any man which she desires! (except of the case when he is not a believer etc.) In the Word of God it is written have the possibility to marry with one she desires; with one she desires means with anyone she desires. Is this wonderful as we have the gifts of Holy Spirit which include the ability to influence hearts?

Stop! But how about that brothers which have married with unbelievers? I believe Bible, as it is written is not able, so it really cannot happen! These who married with unbelievers was not true Christians. A true Christian cannot marry with an unbeliever. This never happens (not counting if got into slavery by violence and to rape, but this however isn't true love but just mechanical imitation, yes?)

So, how many fake Christians we have filtered! How much less is the quantity of the true ones than of fake! Christ has said exactly this It is a thin the way leading to life, not many go by it. (However sometimes it so that a false Christian married with an unbeliever and only then after several years understood that he was fake, repented and become a true Christian. So it sometimes indeed happen that Christians are married with unbelievers.)

It is an other matter that even regarding us Christians, our patience sometimes fails and losing self-control, we may bonk with unbelievers, and then we repent. But this is an other matter. Bible tells us to forgive failed into a sin.

Well, there are also the case when somebody unbelieving has become a believer only after the marriage with an other unbeliever. Oh... personally for me this would be just like a nightmare to be with an unbelieving wife, I just do not imagine how I would have sex with she... If you cannot live together, divorce. The word died from 1Cor. 7:39 can be translated also as (spiritually) asleep, ceased to be an active Christian. If your husband ceased to be an active Christian, God doesn't disallow you to go away to an other man.

St. Paul have said, (1Cor. 7) 12 To the others I speak not the Lord: If some brother have unbelieving wife and she is (gladly) agreed to live with him, then let he don't go away from she; 13 and if a wife has an unbelieving husband and he is (gladly) agreed to live with she, let she do not go away from she, 14 because an unbelieving husband is sanctified by a believing wife and an unbelieving wife is sanctified by a believing husband. Otherwise your children would be dirty but now are holy. 15 But if an unbeliever wants to divorce let divorce; a brother or sister in such cases are not bound; to the peace have the Lord called us.

So, am unbelieving husband is sanctified by a believing wife (and the reversely); this means that they was connected together before becoming a believer and this connection may be left unbroken after one of them has become a believer, and an unbeliever become a Little holy together with the holy spouse. This also is transferred to the children. A part of holiness is transferred through their sexual love also to the children. It is the reason why not only Christians can fly into cosmos during orgasm: unbelievers which have this ability are either descendants of Christians or have stealed an (infinitely small) part of our energy.

This link (called marriage love) may be left unbroken when one of the two unbelieving spouses become a believer. But it never can spring up between an unbeliever and already a believer.
