(1Pet. 4:7) But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.

So says Gospel, Gospel being translated means good news. So the above is a good thing, namely it means something like, There is a short way in every deal, every deal can be accomplished quickly, the end of a deal is near.

For this reason St. Peter recommends to do deals with prayer. With prayer (and sound mind, and self control, and being spiritually) the short way of the deal can be found, and much time and resources can be saved (by going in the short way accordingly prayer instead of a long way).
