Add OPML support to b2evolution blogging engine using this my addon.
OPML is a format used by many news readers to import/export the list of RSS feeds (and Atom feeds).
I have upgraded my installation of b2evolution (a weblog engine) from the version 0.9.0.12 to the version 0.9.1.
I have also applied some self-made patches which hope to publish here soon.
b2evolution 0.9.1 differs mainly in performance. So now my blog will be faster.
Linux (as of kernel version 2.6.15.4) has the following filesystem performance bug:
fsync() and fdatasync() write to HDD (so uselessly loading hardware) even when file has zero links. See below for a test case and my idea how we could use it to increase system performance if there would be no such bug.
Some my quick but important thoughts about future operating systems and how efforts of the software development should be concentrated:
Now we could weep: Oh, if Linus Torvalds would write not in C but in Ada... Oh, if then that time there would be also many other Ada programmers which would write a decent operating system like Linux and many software packages but not in C (and C++) but in Ada...
Released alpha of FTPFS v3 for Linux - the new generation of FTP filesystem. It allows to mount directories from an FTP server as normal Linux directories and work with files on FTP server as with normal Unix files.
This release (0.1.2) is alpha quality (untested and downloads from FTP very slowly).
